cravings for jap cuisine?
or wanted to make home cook food for your loved ones?
with a budget of $20 ++ you can easily cook a super delicious jap curry within 2 to 3 hours! =D
all the ingredients can be found at NTUC
ps: was cooking jap curry for my family on christmas day.. just wanted to share the recipe! HAHAHa
ingredients needed:
- potatoes
- carrots
- onions
- chicken/pork/beef (optional.. will be explained later)
- jap curry sauce mix
- chicken stalk (optional)
- jap fish flavoring (erm.. not sure whether issit called flavouring.. sort of a jap fish flavouring)
- jap rice
preparation:
- potatoes are to be halved! make sure the size of potatoes are not too small.. to prevent the potatoes from melting.. im sure you dont want your curry to have no potatoes!
- cut the carrots into cubes.. also make sure the size are not too small
- dized the onions.. in order for it to melt easily! give the curry more sweetness and fragrance
- cut off excess fats and skin from the chicken
ps: the potatoes i used are quite small.. thus i didnt bother to half it..

the process:
- boil half a pot of water
- put in the chicken and let it boil a while
- remove excess oil when it surfaces on the boiling water
- put in a packet of the fish flavoring
- put in all carrots and potatoes
- let it boil for about 30mins under medium fire
- put the diced onions and let it boil for another 30mins
- make sure the potatoes and carrots are done before putting the curry in!
- let it boil under small fire for another hour or less! make sure you keep stirring it. GENTLY!
- serve it with a bowl of rice! =D
jap rice is fatter and more chewy!

this is the fish flavoring i'm talking about.

the jap curry

this is how the curry looks like...

note: do not just put in the whole packet of curry into the soup!
you would have to melt it slowly first! dunno how to explain..
just do what im doing in the picture! LOL!

by using a chopstick.. stir and melt the curry cubes slowly!
just continue putting in the curry cubes and melt it slowly.. until..

the curry is thick!
note: dont have to put in the whole box of curry! just put enough curry cubes..

tadah!! looks yummy right! =D

alternative ways:
it can be a vegetarian dish.. just dont put any meat into the curry! the curry sauce mix is vegetarian.. so no worries! =D
if you dont like boiled and seasoned curry chicken..
you can also go with deep fried chicken cutlet!
just prepared the chicken cutlet and curry separately..
no chicken in the curry will not spoil the taste! no worries! =D
PS: hope you enjoy the food and find this post useful! LOL..
